I thought it would be nice to show the real reason behind the pretty allegory of America: the battleships and all the dead sailors who fought bravely that day.

It reminds me a picture where Germania (I'm note sure) comforts a wounded German soldier. It was more powerful than the single picture of her, proudly carrying a sword or something.

Very nice! And isn't that why we unleashed Einstien's wrath (A bombs) on Japan?

Sometimes I wonder what would've happened if we had gotten involved in WWII from the start. But then then I remind myself that the past and present cannot be changed, only the future, and that no one can know what would've happened. Besides, the Japanese paid for their crimes with the loss of Hiroshima and Nagasaki (reminds me of something my mom once said while we were in a Japanese restaurant: "This Nagasaki roll is the bomb!").

Hiroshima and Nagasaki were just a weapon's test for USA... And a way to say to Stalin "Hey, think better before mess with us! Today it's Japan. Tomorrow, it can be the Kremlin!":)

Avtually, there were three A-bombs: the first was tested (somewhere in the US-I can't remember where), and the two we dropped on Japan. Thats why it was called the Manhattan project; three 'A's, three A-bombs.

New Mexico. The first was tested there:)

Aw, c'mon! It's not a real test if thousands of innocent people aren't fried instantly!;)

Someone a little more ethical would say that a crime does not justify another.

Sounds like a movie I saw once: Air Marshal Sir Arthur "Bomber" Harris complains that arrived late for an compromisse because he was stopped by a patrol in the road. Harris told that the guard said, "Sir, did you know that you could have killed someone at that speed?" and Bomber Harris replied "Oh, my dear, I kill thousands of people every night".

Yeah. Many historians classify the bombing of Dresden as a war crime, or "aggressive war" by bombing a city without air defense 24 hours a day.
