Kasim

A sketch of Kasim, the Crown Prince of the Emirate of Hejaz, a fictional country that I created for a story I occasionally add something or other in hopes of having something coherent – as I write another story and do some sketches a bit of everything ... I’m still trying to make some stories of Gil, George and Rodney inspired by teen heroes like Tintin and Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys.

Anyway, I mixed so many different references, although I feel that the final result went visually quite beautiful, yet I keep thinking "Hmmm, what if I had only copied a picture where all the elements are right? Wouldn’t it be easier?". But Hejaz is a made-up country, after all.

And why a Middle Eastern has blue eyes, you may be asking? Well, Kasim's mother, Queen Fadila, is Turkish, of Azeri descent, and her children (Kasim has a sister of five, Amirah) inherited her blue eyes, very common for the people of the Caucasus region.

In the story, I imagined Kasim developing a crush on Gil mainly because she is “an Amazon”, and nothing like any other girl he met before. Rodney, of course, is not amused. George, however, cares more about not being shot or blown up (their adventures can be really that fun)
